Yoga Classes

Private Yoga Classes

I offer private yoga classes at my home studio. Each class is designed specifically for you and will focus on exercises for your body type, taking into consideration of your personal health and goals.
Whether you are recovering from an illness or injury and need special attention, or new to the practice and looking for specialized consultation, or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your practice.

Group Classes

In my classes, I guide the students to maintain awareness and focus on the breath while moving through a series of postures combined with music. It is important for me to create a fun, relaxing, and safe atmosphere for the students, so they are able to find their “own” Yoga, their “own” posture.

The sequence of the postures are different from class to class but always follow a progression through a breathing exercise, warm-up, Sun Salutations, a dynamic standing series, core work, various hip openers, twists, backbends, and inversions. Postures may be held for longer periods of time and will be linked together to unite the body to the breath and mind.

Prenatal Yoga

A way to maintain a healthy body and mind during pregnancy is prenatal yoga. Prenatal Yoga focuses on poses for pregnant women, in order to increase strength and flexibility.

  • Improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.
  • Improves the ability to sleep.
  • Balance the endocrine system.
  • Increasing strength to support the extra weight of the baby.
  • May decrease discomforts such as nausea and fatigue.
  • Promotes connection with your baby.
  • Opportunity to connect to other like-minded women.
  • Preparation for birth (labor, delivery).
  • Allows a quicker postnatal recovery.

Kids Yoga

Our children live in a hurry-up world of busy parents, school pressures, video games, and competitive sports. We sometimes forget, how stressful this can be for our kids. The bustling pace of our children’s lives can have a profound effect on their innate joy—and usually not for the better.

When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life’s challenges with a little more ease. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that’s noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion—instead of opposition—is a great gift to give our children.

Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improve. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface.

Teenager Yoga

The timing of yoga for teens is important for the mind because the brain continues to develop throughout the early to late teenage years. The prefrontal cortex is the area behind the forehead and is known as the “CEO of the brain” for its ability to plan, organize, and regulate mood. The development of the prefrontal cortex gives you the ability to concentrate and think, rather than act on impulse, and is critical to being successful throughout life stages—whether in academics, career, or relationships.

Yoga during this time can help teens cultivate “executive functions” or the important skills of creativity, flexibility, self-control, and discipline.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of modern yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

Benefits of Yin Yoga:

  • Yin increases your flexibility
  • You can practice it almost anywhere
  • Yin fosters self-love-It melts your stress away
  • Yin allows you to become intimate with yourself
  • It builds fortitude and perseverance
  • Yin is like meditation for beginners
  • It enables you to release your demons.
